Job Summary: About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at Pine Bluff Arsenal. This position serves as a Chemical Equipment Repairer performing the full range of work involved in the repair and maintenance of a variety of chemical and biological collective protection equipment.

Major Duties:

  • Performs maintenance on a variety of chemical and biological protection equipment.
  • Conducts testing to determine the repair that will be utilized.
  • Disassembles instruments/components to inspect for worn or damaged parts.
  • Complies with all environmental, security, safety administrative requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Chemical Equipment Repairer without more than normal supervision. Duties which include working with chemical and biological protective equipment and perform troubleshooting tasks to diagnose the extent of repairs required. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Trouble Shooting Use of Measuring Instruments Work is performed in standing, stooping and bending positions. Work is occasionally performed in a sitting position while making repairs at a workbench or using test equipment. Frequently handles items weighing 5-25 pounds and occasionally is required to lift items in excess of 45 pounds Work is normally performed in a moderately lighted, heated and ventilated shop. Incumbents are subject to dirt and grease during work operations; also exposed to equipment under hydrostatic test up to 3000 psi. Work requires occasional use of protective clothing such as asbestos suits, rubber coats, aprons, gloves, masks, etc.
