The Role
We are looking for a talented and driven Chef de Partie to join our in-house Catering team and support the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our employees and clients. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney.
Ordinary working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, however some flexibility to work evenings or weekends may be required on occasion.
The Chef de Partie will work collaboratively with the broader Catering team across day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that our dining and catering services are executed to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role that will involve cooking, food preparation, menu planning, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and positive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the preparation of food for:
Client functions and events
Staff events, including morning and afternoon teas
Working lunches
Our on-site café
Assist in the preparation of menus for all meals and catered events
Assist with mentoring and training junior kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient food production
Ensure food is prepared and presented according to company standards, while maintaining consistency and quality
Oversee kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and compliance with New South Wales health and safety regulations
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, inventory, and stock levels
Manage food waste and maintain cost-effective operations
Assist with online ordering, invoicing and pricing
Step in for the Sous Chef when required, helping to ensure seamless kitchen operations
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant hospitality/culinary qualifications
3 years full time employment experience in a fine dining, corporate or catering environment
Passion for producing high quality, well-presented food
Strong knowledge of day-to-day kitchen operations (including invoicing) and unwavering adherence to food safety, hygiene and allergen protocols
Strong work ethic and an ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
