About the Role

Busy Bees at Glenroy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef to join our team from 27th April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating nutritious meals for young children and contributing to a positive early learning environment.

As our Chef, you will play a key role in supporting children’s health, wellbeing, and development through the preparation of fresh, high-quality meals aligned with dietary guidelines.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparing nutritious, age-appropriate meals in line with dietary requirements

  • Managing food preparation in accordance with food safety standards and regulations

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment

  • Ordering and managing stock, ensuring cost-effective kitchen operations

  • Catering for children with allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences

  • Working collaboratively with the Centre Director and educators to support the service

What You’ll Need

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • Experience working in a childcare environment (highly regarded)

  • Sound knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid Working with Children Check (Employee) – VIC requirement
