What’s involved in this role: 

We are looking for a Product Development Analyst in Appleton, WI.

The Product Development Analyst provides support to the Cheese Development team by coordinating and managing the workflow of the test kitchen and applications laboratory; managing projects as assigned, providing trial assistance, and performing product testing and evaluations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform pilot scale and benchtop trials. 
  • Manage workflow in the laboratory and conduct basic analytical testing of cheese products.
  • Manage workflow and product inventory in the test kitchen.
  • Maintain equipment in lab and test kitchen.
  • Create and maintain formalized SOPs for equipment and procedures.
  • Schedule and perform product sampling, analytical testing, and evaluations based on the timelines defined for each product, carrying out each product to the defined shelf life.
  • Conduct routine evaluations and maintain product library for Agropur cheese products in applicable applications.
  • Coordinate sensory evaluations of products for customers, suppliers, and projects as needed.
  • Build experimental designs to conduct pilot and commercial trials in collaboration with external research divisions of culture and enzyme supplier.
  • Travel to US plants for operations and project support.
  • Conduct evaluations of market sample cheese products and maintain a product library for each product type.
  • Schedule, perform, and set up testing of product components for evaluation throughout shelf life while utilizing the results for implementation in further trials and next steps, or redesigning trials to achieve better/different results.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm/8am-5pm flexibility needed for business needs

What you need to join our team:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of Product Development or R&D experience within food processing required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
