Would you like to lead people through change and take end‑to‑end responsibility for a critical platform capability at If?
We are looking for an experienced Chapter Lead to own and evolve our Optimizely CMS platform as a shared, reliable, and scalable capability across the company. The role combines people leadership, platform ownership, and a strong platform engineering mindset.
As a Chapter Lead you are managing the unit Content Solutions which consists of 10 developers, spread across the Nordic and Riga. You support and guide them in growing their experience and knowledge, while ensuring a healthy, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
On the platform side, you will take end‑to‑end responsibility for the evolution of our Optimizely CMS platform across multiple teams and use cases. You will help shape the roadmap, strengthen governance and lifecycle management, and improve standardization and reuse, while ensuring the platform is secure, reliable, observable, and easy for teams to build on.
You will drive a stronger DevOps and platform engineering mindset, focusing on automation, operational ownership, resilient delivery pipelines, and self‑service capabilities where they add value. A key part of the role is continuously improving the developer experience and enabling teams to work efficiently with clear guardrails and high quality.
We also see this role as an opportunity to bring more AI thinking into the platform space. For us, that means exploring practical ways to use AI and intelligent automation. Always with good judgment, strong security awareness, and clear business value in mind.
In the same way that we place high demands on you as an employee, we also expect you to place high demands on us as an employer. Here are some of the benefits of working at If:
An including work environment where everyone is welcome
Career and development opportunities in the biggest insurance company in the Nordics
Social activities, as well as highly skilled professional environment
Possibility of hybrid workplace
Health promoting workplace with e.g., wellness allowance and various sports activities
Great insurance benefits
You are a member of Digital Sales and Content Solutions where you have fellow Chapter Lead colleagues that all have their separate units. Your unit, Content Solutions, today consists of three types of teams: one focused on Open Pages, one on Advisory solutions, and one responsible for the If Design System. Together, these teams support a wide range of customer‑facing and content‑driven digital experiences across the organization. The culture is built on trust and support, creating an environment where curiosity and new ideas are encouraged.
Our CMS platform is a central part of If’s digital landscape and supports customer‑facing and content‑driven services across the company. It is built on Optimizely CMS with multiple instances, shared assets, and environments spanning both on‑prem and cloud.
We are strengthening the platform as a shared capability, with clear end‑to‑end ownership that improves quality, standardization, and speed across teams.
You will work closely with developers, architects, product roles, infrastructure, security, and external partners across countries and functions.
We believe you to be an experienced engineering leader who understands that a modern and well-functioning platform is created as much by technology as it is by people. You have led experienced engineers before and are comfortable driving change in complex environments. Therefore, we believe you are motivated to move between discussing architecture and operational models, coaching, creating clarity for the team, and building trust.
You move seamlessly between strategy and execution, combining strong architectural and engineering judgment with the ability to coach, prioritize, and create clarity. You stay curious about where engineering is heading, from AI‑assisted development to self‑service platforms, while grounding innovation in real value, building platforms that teams understand, trust, and want to use.
Several years of relevant experience within software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or digital product development.
