Chapter Lead Capital Change

Do work that matters

At CommBank, we’re building a trusted, resilient and future‑ready bank. As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, ensuring strong capital outcomes is critical to protecting our customers, shareholders and the broader community.
In this role, you’ll play a key leadership position in shaping how the Group responds to regulatory and business‑driven change — translating complex requirements into practical, high‑quality outcomes that stand up to scrutiny.

See yourself in our team

The Capital Change function plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory intent is translated into scalable systems, processes and reporting outcomes. Working closely with Risk, Treasury, Technology and Business teams, we ensure capital impacts are well understood, prioritised and delivered in a controlled and sustainable way.

As the Chapter Lead Capital Change, you will partner closely with the Crew Lead to set direction, prioritise change and lead high‑performing teams responsible for capital change delivery across the Group.

On any given day, you will

  • Lead and develop a team of business analysts, providing coaching, performance management and capability uplift

  • Shape and deliver the Group’s capital change agenda, balancing regulatory rigour with commercial pragmatism

  • Drive the implementation of new or revised APRA capital requirements across systems, reporting and processes

  • Own prioritisation decisions across competing regulatory, business and technology demands to focus on the most material outcomes

  • Partner closely with Risk, Treasury, Technology and Business stakeholders to ensure capital impacts are clearly understood and effectively delivered

  • Represent capital change impacts in governance and senior leadership forums, providing clear insights, risks and recommendations

  • Ensure strong controls, accuracy and delivery quality across all capital change initiatives

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Deep understanding of APRA prudential and regulatory capital requirements

  • Significant experience (typically 10+ years) across regulatory reporting, credit risk modelling, capital or credit policy within a regulated environment.

  • Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across Risk, Treasury, Technology and Business functions

  • Demonstrated experience prioritising deliverables and managing complex change in fast‑moving environments

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance regulatory expectations with practical business outcomes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence operating in senior governance forums

  • A proactive risk mindset, with a focus on sustainable, well‑controlled outcomes
