This senior role is a hybrid of people leadership, technical craft, and cultural mentorship. You will be responsible for leading the Business Analysis & Product Owner (BA/PO) community, ensuring their professional growth while also defining the standards for how we define value across the organization. This position requires you to be a leader (Chapter Lead), a subject matter expert (Senior BA/PO), and a mentor (Agile Coach).
Your responsibilities are divided into three core areas:
1. People Leadership (Chapter Lead)
Talent Management: Define the skills and competencies for BA/PO roles; support hiring, assessment, and onboarding.
Coaching & Development: Conduct regular 1:1s, provide continuous feedback and mentorship, and manage performance.
Capability Building: Identify and address individual and collective skill gaps (e.g., discovery, experimentation, financial modeling) through targeted training, workshops, and certifications.
2. Craft Excellence (BA/PO Expert)
Define Standards: Establish, document, and champion the best practices, templates, and tools for all analysis, requirements management, and product backlog activities (e.g., User Story Mapping, OKR definition, BPMN).
Ensure Quality: Drive a consistent quality bar and application of best practices across all products, reducing ambiguity and definition-related technical debt.
Lead by Example: Act as a Senior Product Owner or Lead Business Analyst on strategic projects, setting a high-quality example for the Chapter.
Foster Community: Organize and lead the BA/PO Community of Practice (COP) to share lessons learned, showcase new techniques, and maintain high domain knowledge.
3. Agile Enablement (Agile Coach)
Value-Driven Coaching: Coach Product Owners on maximizing product value, making effective prioritization decisions, and focusing on outcomes over outputs.
Stakeholder Alignment: Mentor BAs and POs in advanced stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication to ensure strategic alignment.
Continuous Improvement: Guide teams on effective discovery techniques (user research, prototyping) and setting up metrics (like Evidence-Based Management) to validate assumptions and drive continuous learning.
