What’s the role?

The Channel Account Manager for Automotive is a key resource to execute Shell’s business growth and market share aspirations. This role acts as the primary focal point between Shell’s internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring alignment with Shell’s goals, RTM strategies, and practices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage End-to-End Distributor Processes: Ensure distributors operate as profit centers by consulting on operational, financial, and organizational processes to improve ROI and contribute to Shell’s bottom line.
  • Drive Sales Growth: Identify growth and distribution opportunities through market feedback, field visits, and marketing initiatives. Implement CVPs, pricing strategies, and brand campaigns to deliver measurable sales growth.
  • Organizational Development: Advise distributors on financial processes, inventory management, logistics, HSSE compliance, and HR policies to build sustainable and efficient operations.
  • Performance Management: Collaborate with distributors to create and review annual business plans, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions. Utilize digital tools (ERP, SFA) for data-driven decision-making.
  • Training & Development: Assess distributor staff competencies, provide coaching, and arrange periodic training on Shell products, value selling, and sales techniques to enhance capability and performance.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field with 5+ years’ experience and understanding of channel management and market analysis.
  • Ability to consult on operational, financial, and organizational processes.
  • Proficiency in driving sales growth through structured plans and relationship management. Seven core CR functional competencies: Brand Development, Create Great Content, Crisis Management, Policy & Advocacy, Social Performance, Stakeholder Relationships, Reputation & Risk Management.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate within Maharashtra & Gujarat.
  • Valid 4-wheeler driving skills.
  • Familiarity with digital tools (ERP, SFA) and data-driven performance management.
