COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank’s operations. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the global Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives.

About the role

We are looking for a professional looking for complexity and keen to construct, change and implement new requirements and streamlining existing processes. Understanding of the bigger picture and collaboration across functions and business lines is key. A natural interest in optimizing processes, looking for solutions and financial risk modelling is required to be able to coordinate effectively in between the teams. As change expert, you will actively work with the squads to achieve our key objectives. You get energy from using your analytical skills to bring complete solutions for the requested change.

Examples of potential activities:

  • You lead complex change projects,
  • You plan an active role in building a planning, solving impediments together with the teams involved,
  • You coordinate the end-to-end implementation of financial risk changes via change management tools (QBR, Azure, Sakura),
  • Works closely together with various departments within the processing chain (Modelling, Reporting, Finance, Data Management, IT, etc.),
  • Also acting as a linking pin between the stakeholders and the implementation team/domains,
  • You work on both strategic initiatives and regulatory requirements.

More about you:

  • Following a Master degree with a focus on Finance/Risk and/or Business,
  • Understanding in process modelling and end-to-end implementation,
  • Experience in Financial Risk-related project management and coordination,
  • Affinity and experience with technology and the latest developments as you will closely work together with IT,
  • Experience with change management processes and tools (e.g., QBR Portal, Azure, Sakura),
  • You are familiar with Copilot and can build solutions for our team and stakeholders to use,
  • Taking fact-based decisions and being persuasive also with resistance,
  • Find new and simple solutions for complex problems and matters,
  • Team player but also capable of working independently,
  • Good communication skills in oral and written English.
