Change & Data Actuarial Lead – Senior Actuary

Role Description

As a Senior Actuary, you will lead actuarial change initiatives across PIA F&A, ensuring robust data, systems, and controls while driving automation and operational excellence. You will partner across modelling teams, CFT, external suppliers, and Group forums to deliver integrated solutions that are compliant, reliable, and ready for business-as-usual (BAU).

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead financial impact assessments and operational readiness for business changes affecting F&A data and systems infrastructure.

  • Define business requirements for F&A-related changes and lead implementation from design through deployment.

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge base of all in-scope PIA data, systems, and processes, including specifications, calculation methods, and process maps.

  • Identify and own key controls related to systems, tools, and data reports within the defined scope.

  • Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and internal control frameworks.

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and compatibility testing for new solutions.

  • Propose and implement tactical solutions to support BAU where remediation is required.

  • Ensure smooth handover of new system and data solutions to BAU teams.

  • Develop ETL tools and capabilities using Python, MS SQL, and VBA; operate on platforms such as Databricks and WTW Unify to enable in-house data infrastructure maintenance.

  • Define and lead targeted automation and process improvement initiatives across PIA F&A.

  • Collaborate with modelling teams, CFT, external suppliers, and other relevant providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

  • Participate in wider programmes and forums within the Group, ensuring alignment with peer functions.

Skill Requirements:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Qualified Actuary (Fellow or equivalent) with at least 8 years of professional experience in a similar area.

  • Proven track record in actuarial change programmes and data management initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of financial systems, actuarial modelling, and data management.

  • Experience in ETL development and data transformation using Python, VBA, and MS SQL; data visualization in Power BI.

  • Good knowledge of platforms: Databricks and WTW Unify; experience with actuarial modelling in RAFM is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Proven capability to operate within project environments and manage engagement with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to translate complex actuarial and technical concepts into actionable business requirements.

  • Familiarity with automation tools and process improvement focus.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
