Job Description

The Change and Deployment Manager leads deployment activities within the Test & Deployment team, operating in a global service desk environment. Reporting to the Test & Deployment Manager, this role coordinates change and deployment activities across multiple sites and environments, ensuring processes are followed, risks are managed, and deployments are executed with minimal impact and maximum quality. The Deployment Manager acts as the main point of contact for deployment knowledge, guiding engineers and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.


What will you be doing?
•    Coordinate and Manage Deployments: Oversee and execute deployment activities for customers and development environments, ensuring alignment with service contracts and organizational standards.
•    Release Planning: Create, plan, and manage release calendars and schedules for site and production deployments.
•    Documentation: Develop deployment documentation, runbooks, release notes, rollback scenarios, and maintain process/procedure documentation.
•    Risk & Impact Assessment: Perform risk analysis and deployment impact assessments at component and subsystem levels.
•    Test & Preparation: Prepare test environments, align test schedules, and manage deployment rehearsals and rollbacks with deployment and test engineers.
•    Execution & Monitoring: Lead the execution of deployments in production environments, monitor system behavior during smoke tests/post-deployment validation, and ensure planning is met.
•    Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (ITSDM, site teams, T&D team, management, service desk, product development, etc.) regarding all deployment and change activities.
•    Issue Management: Escalate issues to Service Management during deployments, coordinate escalations, and implement mitigation actions for potential delays.
•    Change Control: Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, make Go/No-go decisions based on testing results, and ensure end-to-end change processes are adhered to for all planned releases.
•    Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-implementation reviews, contribute to process improvements, and introduce enhancements to product, process, and tooling.
•    Team Leadership: Delegate tasks (e.g., Jira tickets), transfer knowledge to engineers, and provide guidance for successful deployment execution.
•    Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and relevant department processes.
•    Support & Commissioning: Provide commissioning and stand-by support during project go-live, act in production/service support, and help configure components per deployment overview.

What do we ask from you?
•    Education: Bachelor’s or university degree in a technical/logistics field (systems engineering, mechatronics, informatics, electrical engineering, or related discipline).
•    Experience: 4+ years in service-oriented environments, supporting live customer systems according to ITIL standards; experience in technically leading engineering projects with multidisciplinary teams.

•    Technical Knowledge: 
o    ITIL Change Management and Release & Deployment Management
o    Software processes (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and methodologies
o    Tools: Jira, Dos Maximo, Service Now, Microsoft Project, SQL Developer, Apache Maven, HP ALM, OP5, Flux, Bamboo, Docker, Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, PowerShell, Kubernetes, Helm
o    Working experience with virtual machines, VM clusters, XML, Git repositories
•    Industry Experience: Familiarity with customer processes in relevant industries (e.g., ASML, Thales), material handling systems, IT architecture, industrial automation, business process automation, integration strategies, and processes.

•    Skills: 
o    Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
o    Quality-focused with attention to detail
o    Ability to decompose work, estimate effort, and create feasible plans
o    Excellent communication and influencing skills in English (written and verbal)
o    Proactive, pragmatic, and supportive team player, able to work with diverse backgrounds
o    Willingness to travel internationally (up to 50%)
•    Tooling & Technical Skills: 
o    Primary: Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Jenkins, PowerShell, Kubernetes, Helm, software deployment
o    Secondary: VM setup, PowerShell scripting, XML reading, Git repository management

•    Additional Knowledge: 
o    Networking fundamentals (VLANs, subnets, gateways, firewalls, NAT, WiFi, etc.)
o    Servers & virtualization (ILO, ESXi, Hyper-V, RAID)
o    Storage & connectivity (NAS, handheld scanners, industrial networks)
o    Cloud-native/containerized environments (microservices, Kubernetes)
o    Cybersecurity awareness and best practices
o    Data analytics (Splunk or similar)
o    Testing methodologies (ISTQB Foundation, TMAP), test tooling (Polarion)
•    Certifications: CCNA or equivalent is a plus.

Good to Have
•    Experience in Automation, DevOps/CI CD, Integration Testing, Networking/IT, coding/scripting/software development, control systems (PLCs, barcode scanners, motors & drives), warehouse/industrial automation (WMS/WCS, IACS), SCADA systems, system messaging & communication (HLC/LLC), cloud-native environments, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

 

What we offer

This position offers a competitive salary range of €4.700 to €6000 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
