Certified Nurse Aide-PRNJob Description:
CNA-PRN
Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care, including personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, oral care, and assistance with daily activities.
Obtain and record vital signs, weights, intake and output, and report changes or abnormalities to the RN.
Assist with patient mobility — turning, repositioning, ambulating, and maintaining proper body alignment.
Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges by preparing rooms, escorting patients, and ensuring comfort and safety.
Perform delegated clinical tasks such as specimen collection, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and other unit-specific procedures.
Assist patients with nutritional needs — setting up trays, feeding when necessary, and maintaining hydration and dietary restrictions.
Answer call lights promptly and respond to patient and visitor needs with courtesy and professionalism.
Communicate effectively with RNs and team members, participating in hourly rounding and shift reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment while following hospital safety and infection control procedures.
Demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor in stressful or emotional situations and promote patient dignity and advocacy.
Participate in department safety training, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness activities.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
