An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Large Engines Certification Team as a Certification Engineer. 

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to work in Civil Aerospace and your role will be primarily based within the Production Operations Assembly and Test facility (PTF, Derby). 

 

Once fully trained and accredited, you will be certifying our Trent Large Engines as conforming to design data and safe for our customers to operate. You will also be given opportunity to work on improvement projects and your own personal development. 

Responsibilities: 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the Engine or Module conforms to the applicable design data and is in condition for safe operation, you will also: 

  • Ensure compliance to CAA Part 21 airworthiness regulations and meet AS9100 / ISO 9001 requirements. 

  • Create and approve CAA Form 1's and Engine Logbooks. 

  • Answer and instruct corrective action on any customer complaint levelled against build configuration, logbook accuracy and certification matters. 

  • Deliver improvements to ensure the Team Certification KPI's are achieved. 

  • Gain full Certifying Staff accreditation and maintaining stamp accreditation through re-training and assessment. 

  • Work closely with the Modules, Engine Build, Test, CDC and Functional Teams to ensure any problems are corrected promptly and engines are Certified on time for Customer Despatch.

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • Quality Assurance/Inspection experience. 

  • Good Teamwork/Influencer - internal and external to Certification Team. 

  • Preferably the candidate would have knowledge of engine / module build or configuration control systems would be an advantage. 

  • Preferred high level of IT competence and experience of MS Office, MES and SAP. 

  • Preferably have knowledge of quality tools, RRMS quality processes and product structures. 

  • Preferably have knowledge of CAA Part 21 regulations.
