Overview of Position:

This position is responsible for scheduling and preparing patients for radiology and other tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1.    Fields scheduling related calls and appropriately schedules patients according to schedule availability.
2.    Collects and compiles all pertinent patient information and ensures needed information is available on the day of exam.
3.    Verifies that patients have a provider order before tests are performed or at time of scheduling. 
4.    Scheduling expectations include but are not limited to calls, work queue orders, coordination with appropriate appointments, in the appropriate location, utilizing decision trees, following EPIC arrival and prep instructions. 
5.    May perform pre-registration functions on select patients by obtaining and entering information obtained from the patient.
6.    Serves as a liaison between the imaging department and provider offices, patients and other hospital departments as needed. 
7.    Forwards essential patient information to appropriate personnel and departments.
8.    Analyzes and reprioritizes schedules and appointments based on changing circumstances as needed.
9.    Prepares reports as needed to document utilization of the department's services and patient flow.  
10.    Receives cross training as necessary to provide relief support to other staff, to assist in the smooth delivery of services.
11.    Must maintain knowledge of appropriate systems: OnBase, Pathway2Care, EPIC Wait list, Web voicemails, RightFax, IVR, others/etc. 
12.    Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
1.    High school diploma or equivalent required.
2.    Some knowledge of medical terminology.
3.    Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and problem-solving skills. 
4.    Must be able to communicate clearly in speech and in writing and display excellent customer service.
5.    Demonstrates a pleasant, positive and caring attitude. 
6.    Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
7.    Excellent computer and typing skills.

3.    Answers telephone calls, uses personal computer and other business machines extensively, which requires the ability to apply finger dexterity.  Individual bends, reaches, pushes and pulls file drawers to file records and reports.
