Job Summary: This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in Central Electrical Services (TFHE) organization of Construction and Maintenance Services (TFH), Transmission Field Services (TF), Transmission Services (T). A successful candidate in the Central Electrical Services Manager position will serve as manager of the Central Electrical Services team with responsibility for planning, leading programs, and work processes that are necessary to perform the critical mission.

Major Duties:

  • As a Central Electrical Services Manager, you will: Determines goals and develops plans for the organization independently of or jointly with higher management. Makes or recommends organizational changes that have considerable impact, such as those involving basic structure, operating cost, and key positions. Sets policy for the organization in such areas as determining program emphases and operating guidelines. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Makes decisions on work problems presented by the subordinate supervisors, by other subordinates, or by contractors. Evaluates the work performance of subordinate supervisors and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Hears and resolves group grievances and serious complaints Participates actively in conferences, meetings, hearings, or presentations involving problems or issues of considerable consequence or importance to the Transmission program.

Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
