The Enterprise Architecture team have the important role to serve the needs of Fidelity by enabling the Business, Technology and Data strategies to flourish in order to realise targeted business opportunities and value. Enterprise Architecture operates across portfolio delivery and enterprise domains, ensuring there is the right balance between what is sensible for the enterprise as well as meeting programme specific needs.

About your role


In this role, as the lead data architect for corporate enablers lines of business, you will:

Architect - Lead a team of data architects in developing and driving a cohesive data architecture across business lines that harnesses the value of data as an enterprise-level asset; ensures that data is mastered, accessible and secure; enables data and analytics lead decision making; and supports an adaptable enterprise architecture.

Lead & Communicate - Be an advisor to business and technology leaders on data architecture and strategy, managing these relationships to achieve consensus and agreement to the vision and roadmap.  Act as a leader across functions, proactively communicating decisions, roadmaps and insight to technology and business colleagues.

Deliver - Lead the design and support the implementation of initiatives that delivers the data architecture strategy.

Innovate - Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, driving innovation within the organisation.

About you

You have a blend of data architecture, data modelling, data governance and technical data skills, and you are up to date on data architecture principles, products, and technologies to provide expert guidance and thought leadership.

You are able to understand, guide and solve complex functional, technical and architectural issues around data.  You can lead both a technical and functional audience in aligning to a vision and support other teams in achieving their goals across different parts of the organisation.

You have good negotiation and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with senior leaders across Fidelity.  You can convey complex abstract technical concepts in business relevant, non-technical terms.

About your role
To lead the Data Architecture function for group functions - “Corporate Enablers”; covering, HR, Finance and General Counsel reporting to the Head of Architecture - Corporate Enablers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design Leadership
    • Owns the current and target data architecture across the group functions
    • Define and own the end-to-end solution architecture for group functions incl. Finance, HR and General Counsel.
    • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, data governance standards, and compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs and policy requirements into technical capabilities.
  • Core Data Architectrure & Modelling
    • Enterprise data modelling; expertise in conceptual, logical and physical data models
    • Master and reference data; ability to design master data domains across functions
    • Ensure the solution supports retention schedules, classification schemes, access controls, and auditability.
    • Data integration patterns; deep understanding of ELT, APIs, Message buses and event-driven architectures
    • Deep warhouseing and lakehouse design; understanding of Snowflake or equivalent technologies
  • Technology Evaluation & Integration
    • Evaluate and recommend technologies suitable for group functions.
    • Design integration patterns with existing systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle Fusion, Service Now)
  • Data Governance & Risk Management
    • Work closely with data management functions and support compliance to internal policies and external regulations
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with HR, Finance and GRC; heads of Legal, Risk and Compliance to ensure that data architecture and solutions meet business requirements.
    • Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams and vendors.
  • Mentorship
    • Guiding data architects; modellers on best practices and keeping skills relevant

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in solution and data architecture, ideally within regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of data and records management principles, data governance, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, FOIA).
  • Familiarity with cloud and technology stack leadership (Cloud platforms; Azure, AWS); Modern data stack; orchestration; cataloguing, and analytics
  • Experience of SaaS platforms; integrations across SaaS and Enterprise tools; data and reference mastering
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
