What You Will Do:

The Control and Diagnostic Systems (CDS) organization is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, and high-energy candidate to fill the position of Director of Commercial Programs. This role oversees three distinct business segments: Advanced Commercial Engine Programs (ACEP), Next Generation Product Family (NGPF), and Mature Commercial Engines (MCE).

The Director is responsible for the development and performance of CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team) leaders who manage their respective programs. The role encompasses accountability for technical execution, project management, financial performance, and risk management of each commercial program as defined in collaboration with the Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT).

The breadth of responsibilities spans on-board and ground-based Control and Diagnostic System Application Software, Operating System Software, and Control Hardware from concept and development through delivery, aftermarket support, and ground-based diagnostic solutions.

  • Manage cradle-to-grave product processes, including the design, development, validation, certification, and field support of software and control hardware systems.
  • Lead and negotiate with multi-functional, international internal and external partners and customers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Oversee technical, project, business, and product configuration management processes while demonstrating expertise in project planning, requirements management, risk management, and earned value management tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and understanding of engine control system hardware/software design, verification, validation, and field support processes.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, including team development, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Review and optimize program budgets to ensure alignment with financial and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective program communications with internal stakeholders and external customers.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • A minimum of 14+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • U.S. Person or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
  • 10% Travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated success in project planning and management.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop, motivate and guide teams.
  • Experience managing supplier/partner relationships and collaborating on technical projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills across multi-disciplinary teams to support trade studies and challenging programs.
  • Familiarity with earned value management systems.
  • Expertise in modeling and analysis, requirements analysis and management, and software design, development, and testing.
  • Experience with embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and wet/dry control system integration/verification on bench or engine tests.
  • Technical knowledge of engine control system hardware and the software development lifecycle.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
