CDS- Data Analyst and Administrative Support (FWS/NFWS)

Purpose within the Organization:

The Student Worker position within the College of Doctoral Studies provides valuable hands‑on experience in both data analytics and academic operations. Students in this role support key departmental workflows by maintaining data systems, assisting with document processing, and contributing to operational improvements. This position offers the opportunity to work with real academic datasets, develop professional analytical skills, and gain exposure to university systems and processes.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Data & Analytics Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update departmental data trackers, spreadsheets, and workflow metrics.
  • Analyze and validate data using Excel and university systems to support reporting and decision‑making.
  • Learn and navigate CDS platforms (e.g., XRM, CRM, CampusVue, AFADMIN, Igloo) to extract and verify information.
  • Support data‑related projects, including workflow optimization, quality assurance, and dashboard or report development.
  • Academic & Administrative Support

  • Assist with academic document processing and facilitate the consultative dissertation review workflow.
  • Provide operational support through email communication, meeting coordination, and stakeholder assistance.
  • Contribute to departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in university systems and support various administrative tasks as needed.

                                   
Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Excel)
  • Department website and content management systems
  • University-specific systems and databases (XRM, CRM, CampusVue, AFADMIN)
  • Canva, Adobe Products (with emphasis on Express)

  • Laptop, monitor, mouse
     

Qualifications:  
•    Must live on campus or within 30 miles of GCU campus. 
•    Must be available to work over summer. 
•    Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent social media schedule.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with faculty, students, and staff.
•    Ability to learn and navigate multiple university systems and workflows.
•    Ability to learn, understand, and utilize multiple creative mediums.
•    Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
•    Experience with preferred content management.

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
