CCLA Head of Creative Services

The Vice President, Ceremonies Creative Services functions as CCLA’s senior creative interface with the external creative teams responsible for developing the Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies. Rather than exercising authoring, this position serves as a connective bridge between creative leadership helping to ensure that creative concepts, storylines, and design directions evolve within a complex, multi-partner environment. 

The role is designed to contribute to shared understanding, facilitate multi-directional communication, and help maintain continuity across evolving creative, logistical, and operational considerations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a primary conduit between CCLA, LA28 leadership, and external creative partners, supporting clear translation of ideas, expectations, and feedback
  • Maintaining awareness of creative workflows, developmental timelines, and milestone materials to support transparency, coherence, and continuity across workstreams
  • Supporting cross-functional review processes that explore creative feasibility and integration with production, technical, and operational frameworks
  • Contributing to the preparation and refinement of creative presentations, leadership briefings, and materials used for key decision-making conversations
  • Facilitating exchanges between creative, production, and operational collaborators to encourage shared understanding and smooth progression from conceptual intent to executable planning
  • Participating in the coordination and engagement of external creative personnel and consultants, helping establish context, shared expectations, and continuity across Ceremonies
  • Supporting documentation processes, version tracking, and communication practices that enable clarity across multiple creative streams
  • Identifying potential areas of misalignment, emerging risks, or conceptual ambiguity and helping guide collaborative problem-solving discussions

Background & Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in live events, entertainment, cultural, or broadcast creative environments (e.g., ceremonies, theater, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, experiential)
  • Engagement in creative development processes—contributing to or evaluating work from concept through execution within multidisciplinary settings
  • Familiarity with a broad range of creative practices, including storytelling, design, performance, music, choreography, and technology integration
  • Experience operating within complex, multi-partner creative ecosystems involving multiple stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple creative streams simultaneously while supporting alignment across stakeholders
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration capacities suited to high-visibility, cross-functional environments
  • Support the development of creative presentations, briefing materials, and approval documents for leadership and key stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate risks, gaps, or misalignments early, helping drive solutions and maintain forward momentum
  • Experience with Olympic/Paralympic, mega-event, or global broadcast creative frameworks is beneficial

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience

The annual base salary range for this position is $182,000.00 - $260,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
