The Opportunity

The Category Specialist – Fleet is responsible for supporting the development and execution of category strategies for fleet-related goods and services, including vehicles, leasing, maintenance, parts, fuel, and fleet services. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver value through effective contract management, supplier relationship management (SRM), performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

The role operates at the intersection of procurement, operations, and supplier governance, ensuring fleet spend is managed strategically, risks are mitigated, and performance outcomes align with business objectives.

What you'll do

  • Support development and maintain fleet service provider category strategies aligned with enterprise objectives, informed by spend analysis, demand drivers, and market conditions

  • Translate business and operational requirements into structured category plans, sourcing initiatives, and governance approaches

  • Lead and support sourcing activities, including contract awards, renewals, amendments, and ongoing contract administration

  • Ensure fleet service providers operate in compliance with approved contracts, pricing, service levels, policies, and governance frameworks

  • Maintain effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices, including performance management and supplier engagement

  • Track and analyze supplier performance using defined KPIs (e.g., service quality, cost, responsiveness, safety), and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement

  • Identify supplier, operational, and commercial risks, and support mitigation planning, escalation, and service continuity as required

  • Act as a liaison between Supply Chain, Fleet Operations, suppliers, and other stakeholders to align priorities and enable consistent enterprise-wide service delivery

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable documentation, data integrity, and traceability across sourcing, contracts, and supplier performance in ERP and fleet systems

  • Provide reporting, insights, and recommendations on spend, compliance, savings, risks, and supplier performance to support informed decision-making and leadership reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, category management, or related commercial roles

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Category Management activities, including category strategy support, supplier governance, sourcing, or contract lifecycle management

  • Experience working within established governance frameworks, processes, and standards, with the ability to maintain auditready documentation and records

  • Working knowledge of ERP or procurement systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field

  • Experience with relevant SAP/Ariba/PowerBI modules

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; able to distill concepts and make them compelling and suitable for Executive Level presentation

  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing spend, supplier performance, or market data to support business decisions

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional stakeholders and communicate clearly with internal partners and external suppliers
