The Category Specialist – Advanced Sourcing (Advanced Technology) role is an intermediate-level individual contributor position within the Global Procurement & Supply Chain function at JLG Industries, Inc. (Access Segment). This role plays a key part in advancing JLG and Oshkosh Corporation’s technology leadership in the areas of Electrification, Autonomy & Active Safety, Intelligent Products & Connected Solutions, and Factory of the Future. Leveraging market research, category expertise, and cross-functional collaboration and alignment, the Category Specialist develops and deploys Category Strategies for the assigned workstream(s), ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and the Procurement Excellence strategy. By building strong supplier relationships, supporting cost management and optimization initiatives, and contributing to cross-functional sourcing projects, the Category Specialist delivers value across the product lifecycle while enhancing organizational resiliency. Through analytical rigor, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset, this role elevates Global Procurement & Supply Chain in driving innovation and growth to sustain JLG and Oshkosh Corporation’s competitive innovation advantage.

Advanced Sourcing & Procurement Excellence
Partner cross-functionally (Engineering, Product Management, Operations, etc.) to align Sourcing Strategies with Global Product Development and Operational Footprint roadmaps
Ability to quickly develop and leverage knowledge and networks for emerging product categories to anticipate trends, adapt to shifting economic pressures, and provide strategic input on use cases
Lead global cost reduction and total cost of ownership improvement initiatives, leveraging Procurement Excellence principles to deliver year-over-year market-leading sustainable value
Champion best-in-class sourcing practices leveraging experience, networking, research, analytics, cost modeling, market intelligence, and other methods to drive measurable positive impacts
Foster co-innovation with supply base partners that accelerates time-to-market while securing meaningful Intellectual Property (IP)
Negotiate and manage key agreements, such as Long-Term Supply Agreements with commercial and operational protections, Warranty Agreements with reverse logistics strategies, and Technology Development Agreements with clear deliverables, in partnership with Legal Counsel
Leverage Supplier Relationship Management best practices to develop multi-layer cross-functional strategic partnerships that enhance performance and innovation
Build and sustain a world-class supply base in partnership with Supplier Development and Supply Chain Solutions, consistently surpassing benchmarks in cost, delivery, capacity, quality, warranty, and program management
Program & Risk Management
Lead critical technology selection and sourcing initiatives through Proof of Concept and Global Product Development processes, applying project management skills to ensure program success
Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks for assigned categories, collaborating with Supply Chain Solutions and Global Operations to address the current situation while improving future continuity of supply
Lead comprehensive supplier evaluations, leveraging financial, capacity, and quality audits, as well as other assessments, to identify risks and support informed decision-making processes
Enterprise Alignment
Serve as the Access Segment representative for the assigned workstream(s) within the Oshkosh Corporation Advanced Sourcing Global Council, with potential to sit directly in Council sessions with the JLG Advanced Sourcing Purchasing Lead, driving initiatives that uncover synergies, standardize best practices, and leverage organizational scale to enhance project success, accelerate innovation, and generate enterprise-wide value
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) or more years of experience in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to travel 10-20%; including international

Experience in a global manufacturing environment, with preference toward off-highway and/or automotive applications
Passion for Advanced Technology and Innovation with a focus on components and trends that support efforts in Electrification, Autonomy & Active Safety, Intelligent Products & Connected Solutions, and Factory of the Future initiatives
Familiarity with best-cost country (BCC) sourcing strategies and supplier development methodologies
Exceptional organizational skills and experience in managing numerous active projects through the entire lifecycle with thought leadership, proactive risk management, and attention to detail
Familiarity with Supplier Development toolsets such as Quality and Capacity Audits and knowledge of proactive risk assessment tools such as Financial Audits, Geopolitical Risk Analysis, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency leveraging diverse negotiation tactics, with experience navigating complex commercial and development agreements such as Master Supply Agreements (MSAs/LTSAs), Master Professional Services Agreements (MPSAs) with Statements of Work (SOWs), and Joint Development Agreements (JDAs)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
Ability to effectively communicate, including written and verbal updates to Executive Leadership
Ability to work in a cross-functional and global team environment
Strong time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and requirements while exceeding expectations and meeting deadlines
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with evolving requirements
Experience and proficiency with software application including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, etc.), project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.), and MRP systems
Curiosity for and interest in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance outcomes
Earned or actively pursuing an advanced industry-related degree (e.g. MBA, MSc, etc.)
Earned or actively pursuing relevant industry-related certificates and/or certifications (e.g. CSCP, PMP, etc.)
WORKING CONDITIONS

This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature-controlled settings.
Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone.
Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required, along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary, including walking short distances, standing, or reaching for files.

Pay Range:
$72,200.00 - $116,200.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
