What will you do?

 

The Category Buyer is responsible for executing end‑to‑end procurement activities stating from presales support to execution of supplier purchase Orders for materials supporting all the bussiness verticals for the commodities Security, HVAC/IR, Fire & & Index commodities  The role ensures cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supplier quality, compliance with global procurement policies, and alignment with Johnson Controls’ sourcing, ethics, and sustainability standards.

 

This position works closely with Global commodity team, engineering, Bussiness operations, Service & finance to support  project delivery objectives.

 

 

 

  • Execute sourcing and procurement activities for CCTV, Access Controls, IT Networking, HVAC/IR, fire detection/suppression & Index commodities  
  • Support category strategies by identifying cost‑reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, localization, value engineering, and long‑term agreements (LTAs).
  • Participate in RFQ/RFP processes and ensure sourcing decisions align with Customer ask pricing for sales bid.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in line with global supplier qualification, ethics, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, cost targets, quality standards, and service‑level agreements are consistently met.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contractual conditions to achieve total cost optimization.
  • Support contract development and administration in alignment with corporate legal and procurement guidelines.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness for all procurement transactions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and cost optimization.
  • Prepare procurement reports including spend analysis, cost savings, supplier performance, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and global procurement policies.

 

 What we look for?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electronics, electrical, Mechanical & Industrial.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement/sourcing activities especially in system Integration bussiness environment
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience working with cross‑functional and global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform cost analysis and generate management reports.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
  • Results‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High standards of integrity, compliance, and ethical conduct.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset aligned with global operational excellence standards.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
