What is the role?

We are looking for a Casual Physiotherapist to develop, organise, coordinate and implement treatment and rehabilitation, medical screening and health/medical education programmes for the academy players.

What will you be doing?

As a Casual Physiotherapist, you will be supporting our ever-expanding games programme by providing pitch-side first aid cover for Academy games and training sessions, providing care for 9-16 year old Academy players.

You will help with the assessment and treatment of injuries and provide medical cover for training and match sessions. Working closely with Academy Physiotherapists, Sports Scientists, and coaches, you will ensure the best methods of Academy player physical and mental development are achieved.

Is this you?

If you have previous experience in providing physiotherapy sessions/treatment in a sports environment and for youth athletes, then you’ll know what it takes. You have good communication skills so you can communicate medical feedback to players, parents and Academy staff. You’re pro-active and very organised, and have a passion for physically developing athletes.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • CSP/HCPC registered;
  • Physiotherapy Degree or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of musculoskeletal assessment and ability to clinically reason.
  • Ability to travel to venues within the Southampton area (away match travel will normally be provided by the club.)
  • Knowledge of Emergency Aid - Ideally ITTMiF or ATTMiF qualification desirable.
