Job Description Summary

Coordinates daily outdoor work activities and maintains campus grounds through landscaping, equipment operation, and safety oversight. Supports efficient operations by keeping equipment and worksites organized and well maintained.

$15.00 per hour.
Maximum 11.75 hours per week.
Intended Schedule: Beginning May until the end of August. Three (3) days per week at four (4) hours per day.

Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position.  Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

Staff & Work Coordination:

• Coordinates plans for daily outdoor activities.
• Create weekly work schedules and activity plans.

Grounds & Landscape Maintenance

• Maintain flower beds, turf, and landscaped areas across Appleton campuses.
• Perform pruning, watering, fertilization, and pest control to support plant health.
• Remove litter and debris from parking lots and campus grounds.

Equipment Operation & Care

• Operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, and small machinery.
• Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance to ensure safe and effective equipment operation.
• Clean and refuel equipment following daily use.

Safety & Worksite Organization

• Ensure established safety procedures and practices are followed.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and work areas.

Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist with seasonal groundwork if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of plant identification and care.
• Leadership or crew supervision experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:

• Requires valid Driver’s License.
• Subject to FVTC’s Motor Vehicle Records Check Disclosure.

Work Environment

• Work must be completed in person.

Work environment may change based upon college needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work at heights.
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.
