Amentum is seeking a Casual Grounds Maintenance Technician located in the Williamsburg area in Virginia. The Grounds Maintenance Technician maintains grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields.
Job Requirements:
Planting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, watering lawn and shrubs during dry periods.
Operating commercial mowers and landscaping equipment.
Using a hose or activating sprinkler system.
Picking up or blowing leaves, paper, or other litter.
Removing snow/ice from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using shovel and snow blower.
Spreading salt on walkways and other areas.
Repairing and painting fences, gates, benches, tables, and guardrails.
Assisting in the repair of road walk, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
May clean workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing.
Operation chainsaws and other equipment for clearing downed trees, cutting down trees, or removing limbs from trees.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
Ability to obtain/maintain government issued clearance.
Experience operating riding mowers, chainsaws, and other commercial landscaping equipment is a plus, but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards
Standing, lifting, bending, carrying loads of 40 pounds during the duration of the shift.
Ability to work outdoors during all seasons.
High school diploma or GED
Valid Drivers License
US or Naturalized Citizen
Base Resident only 16 years of age, after interview
Have government issued clearance at time of application or Base resident or Base access
