Join our Student Services team and help make a difference every day. We’re seeking enthusiastic, people‑focused casuals who enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment and supporting students at key moments in their university journey here at UQ. As part of our frontline team, you’ll engage with students and staff across a broad range of services, programs and events.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Be the first point of contact for students and university staff, providing initial advice on Student Services and referring enquiries to the right support when needed
Triage and coordinate enquiries, including escalating matters to second‑tier support such as Student Advisers and Counsellors
Support the delivery of student programs, events and group activities, including developing materials and assisting with coordination
Provide administrative and systems support, ensuring records, reports and processes meet legislative and university requirements

Currently completing or have completed a relevant qualification (e.g. Social Work, Sociology, Behavioural Science or Psychology).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and engage confidently with diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to support students, including understanding human behaviour and responding sensitively to student concerns
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including people with disabilities and non‑English‑speaking backgrounds
Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands
High level of tact, discretion and confidentiality, with sound judgement when handling sensitive matters
Currently hold a Blue Card or be able to gain a Blue Card prior to commencing work
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia and Blue Card Check. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
