Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Cashier for our Edgewood Location!
Part-Time, 3rd Shift 24 hours per week
• Accurately tabulates the foods selected by café customers
• Receives cash or authorizes charge and tenders change as necessary
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

  • Stock all food and supplies daily as assigned to meet the needs of the retail operation.
  • Act as a liaison for the Nutrition Department and St. Elizabeth Healthcare when serving customers and associates.  Process orders accurately and offer assistance as needed. Communicates in a professional caring manner when serving customers.
  • Efficient handling of cash register duties and follow proper accounting and cash handling practices to provide accuracy with all transactions and follows all opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and duties to meet high quality standards that create a welcoming and fresh presentation in the serving and dining areas playing close attention to details.
  • Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation and security standards.  Participate in performance improvement (PI) studies; assist with data collection and supports action plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Cash register operation
  • Add and subtract accurately and complete cashier’s reports

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • Cashier, waitress/waiter, or retail store sales for six (6) months.
