We are seeking PRN team members to support our daytime Hospital Admissions department. This flexible role is designed to help cover PTO requests, leaves of absence, and sick calls. 8 hour shifts range between 4 different designated shift times with the earliest shift beginning at 5:30 PM and the latest shift ending at 2:00AM. This position may also choose to pick up overnight shifts but wouldn't be required to. Staff in this role have the option to accept or decline shifts based on their availability. This position is perfect for individuals looking for flexible scheduling, supplemental income, and the opportunity to support patient access operations in a hospital setting. Between PTO requests, Sick calls and Leave of Absence staff in this role could work as little as 8 hours or as much as full time.Summary
Greets patients/residents, verifies patient demographics to accurately register and/or schedule patients/residents, and takes care of related paperwork. Creates electronic patient files; provides, scans, and routes necessary patient forms and documents.Job Description
Educates patients/residents and captures patient signatures on necessary paperwork. Establishes and assigns financial responsibility and/or assists with arrangements while adhering to appropriate policies and procedures. Collects co-payments, pre-payments, and/or payments on account balances. May also work through the registration work queue to address and resolve issues specific to registration, including work queue errors, denied insurance claims, and maintenance of the registration database. Operates multi-line telephones and depending on location, may serve as a switchboard operator calling codes and paging providers. Additional duties may include preparation and coordination of charts; organizing supporting provider documents; discussing pre-payment responsibilities; initiation of patient financial assistance; prior authorization; track patient visits; collaborating with patient financial services and health information management on patient accounts; work on weekly and monthly reports; compiling, distributing, administering and scoring of assessments; coordination of Telemed appointments; provider and schedule maintenance; charge entry/billing and charge verification; reminder calls for appointments; hospital admission; make copies, send faxes, and order supplies. Displays professionalism and promotes an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Must be able to work as part of a team and also work independently. Frequently takes direction from nursing team, stepping in to aid with Code Blue situations. Must always maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Requires excellent customer service and the ability to empathize with patients/residents and their situations. Working knowledge of medical terminology and use of professional written communication when making notes. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
