JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Cash Application Specialist applies customer payments accurately and on time across multiple payment methods (U.S. Mail/lockbox checks, ACH, wires, and credit cards) and processes adjustments, write-offs, debits, and credits. The role partners closely with the AR team and cross-functional contacts in Finance and Accounting. Strong communication, organization, and a collaborative, team-first approach are essential.
How you will Own it:
• Receive, post, and accurately apply cash receipts across multiple payment methods, including wire transfers, ACH credits, credit card payments, and check/lockbox deposits.
• Reconcile payments to invoices and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate customer account and payment records, ensuring financial records are current and complete.
• Perform month-end activities, including intercompany elimination applications and reconciliation to confirm all cash received is applied appropriately.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting to ensure transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Prepare and provide audit support documentation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of Accounts Receivable and/or Cash Application experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with OMEGA ERP system(s) preferred (or a comparable ERP is a plus).
