Key role of the Regional Cased Hole Petrophysics Advisor supports the success for the APAC region cased hole operations by supporting Baker Hughes Wireline across the sales and job execution function. This role requires continuous engagement for excellence in data delivery , project execution and ensuring consistent, high‑quality evaluation aligned with organizational standards to meet customer objectives and expectations. By understanding and providing key customers insights, helps to strengthen performance, efficiency, and data delivery across the APAC Region cased hole organization.
As the APAC Cased Hole Petrophysics Advisor will have the following responsibilities:
1. Regional Technical Authority
- Serve as the APAC subject matter expert (SME) for cased hole petrophysical evaluation, providing technical leadership and advisory support to regional operations and client projects.
- Provide expert guidance on advanced cased hole formation evaluation technologies, including pulsed neutron, cement evaluation, production logging, and reservoir surveillance measurements.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex interpretation challenges, tool physics questions, and logging program design.
2. Advanced Interpretation and Reservoir Surveillance
- Lead and support advanced interpretation of cased hole logging measurements, including:
- Pulsed neutron (Sigma, Carbon/Oxygen, spectral analysis)
- Gas saturation and fluid identification behind casing
- Formation contact monitoring and time-lapse reservoir evaluation
- Reservoir depletion and water encroachment monitoring
- Integrate cased hole logging results with open hole logs, production data, reservoir models, and pressure data to provide actionable reservoir insights.
- Support reservoir surveillance programs including mature field management, gas storage monitoring, and enhanced recovery projects.
3. Technology Deployment and Product Line Support
- Support regional deployment of Baker Hughes wireline cased hole technologies and interpretation workflows across APAC operations.
- Identify opportunities to apply innovative evaluation techniques to improve reservoir understanding and production performance.
- Work closely with global product line and technology teams to introduce and localize new logging technologies and interpretation methods.
- Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement of tools, acquisition methods, and interpretation workflows.
4. Regional Operational and Technical Support
- Provide technical advisory support to country wireline teams during job planning, acquisition troubleshooting, and interpretation phases.
- Participate in pre-job technical reviews and post-job evaluations for high-value or technically complex logging projects.
- Support field operations in resolving data quality issues, environmental effects, and tool response anomalies.
- Assist in optimizing logging program design and acquisition strategies for challenging well conditions.
5. Client Technical Engagement and Consulting
- Act as a technical interface with client subsurface teams, including petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, and production technologist.
- Deliver technical presentations, interpretation reviews, and workshops for client projects across the APAC region.
- Provide expert input for technical proposals, integrated service tenders, and project planning.
- Build strong technical relationships with key operator clients to support long-term collaboration.
6. Quality Assurance and Technical Governance
- Establish and promote regional best practices and technical standards for cased hole petrophysical evaluation.
- Conduct interpretation peer reviews and technical audits to ensure high-quality deliverables and consistency across the region.
- Support development of technical guidelines, interpretation workflows, and knowledge documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes technical standards and HSE policies.
7. Training, Mentorship, and Capability Development
- Mentor and coach regional petrophysicists, field engineers, and interpretation specialists in cased hole formation evaluation.
- Deliver internal technical training and client workshops on cased hole logging physics, interpretation methodologies, and reservoir surveillance applications.
- Support development of regional technical competency and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
8. Industry Engagement and Technical Leadership
- Contribute to technical publications, case studies, and conference presentations.
- Represent Baker Hughes in regional technical forums and professional societies.
- Promote knowledge sharing through regional and global technical communities.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university is preferred or equivalent knowledge & experience
- Working experience in APAC region in various senior Petrophysicst position
- Excellent communication skills (Main Language: English) in various forms, through verbal & written.
- Strong customer relationships and presentation skills for engagements and key events/conference.
