Your part in our UnitingCare team

We are currently seeking a person with an upbeat attitude being able to innovate to see a way to achieve with the client. A person who is a team player to join our Homelessness Service.

The Case Worker will be based at our Bilinga site within the Gold Coast Blair Athol Homelessness program. Supporting people in our crisis accommodation by delivering client-cantered case management.

The position will focus on clients gaining and sustaining long-term accommodation, connecting clients with services and local communities, perusing meaningful employment opportunities, and assisting in the development of essential life skills.

Your high-level communication and rapport building skills will be used to identify and assess needs, strengths, safety, and risk to develop and implement a holistic case plan alongside the clients, including effective safeguarding of any children.

You will utilise your strong written communication and IT skills to navigate a range of databases and administrative tasks and will work both autonomously and closely with an established and supportive team of professionals. 

What makes a difference for us?  

You will have demonstrated experience providing case management support to vulnerable persons in crisis. Experience in the homelessness sector is a distinct advantage, particularly with singles, Youth, and families who may present with complexities and struggle to obtain and maintain accommodation.

Experience working with single men / families in the Supported Accommodation space is an advantage. Previous experience working within the Mental Health arena would be highly regarded.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in the Human Services field or equivalent

  • Australian Drivers Licence.

  • QLD Working with Children Check / Blue Card.

The role is 9:00am – 5:00pm, with the requirement to work flexibly under a rotating weekend roster and the desire to work sleepovers occasionally.
