About the role
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and proactive Case Manager to join our team and support the delivery of The Salvation Army’s Additional Referral Pathway (ARP) Program. In this role, you will provide screening, assessment, and short-term case management interventions to assist victim-survivors on their journey to recovery from modern slavery. You will work collaboratively as part of a national team of specialist case managers and in partnership with other service providers to deliver high-quality support to adults, young people, and children who may be at risk of, or have experienced, trafficking, modern slavery, or sexual and gender-based violence.
As part of the role, you will carry out assessments, offer short-term case management, and facilitate referrals with a strong focus on client safety and connecting individuals with appropriate support pathways. You will also contribute to community engagement by building networks, strengthening partnerships, and raising awareness within local organisations to improve the identification of modern slavery and increase referrals to support.
This Part time (3 days a week), permanent position, based in Adelaide, South Australia & reports to the Team Leader. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 5.
How you will make an impact
Provide high-quality, client-centred and trauma-informed support to individuals impacted by modern slavery and related forms of exploitation.
Deliver predominantly phone-based and virtual case management, with occasional in-person responses as required.
Manage an allocated caseload, responding to enquiries, triaging needs, assessing modern slavery indicators, and delivering short-term casework in line with TSA and ARP practice standards.
Complete risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals to ensure clients access appropriate support services.
Monitor and review client progress to ensure plans remain aligned with needs and goals.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with TSA procedures and systems.
Identify and escalate risks and highlight service gaps or improvement opportunities to the Team Leader/Program Manager.
Collaborate with service providers and participate in relevant networks, meetings, and working groups.
Participate in ongoing professional development and monthly supervision.
You will have
A degree in social work, welfare, community development or a related field, or equivalent sector knowledge and experience gained through previous roles and study.
Relevant State Employee Working With Children Check and a valid Driver Licence.
Strong understanding of modern slavery and trafficking in the Australian context.
Experience in trauma-informed practice, with skills in supporting people with complex trauma and mental health needs highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience working with victim-survivors of abuse, exploitation, modern slavery, and/or domestic, family, and sexual violence, including conducting safety planning and risk assessments.
Experience supporting people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including migrants, asylum seekers, and refugee communities.
