What you’ll do

  • Work with complex systems and applications to tender work assignments, and update transportation activities being executed across Canada balancing cost and service

  • Provide regular feedback on the quality of the transportation plan, and suggest improvements

  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with third party carriers while ensuring desired service is provided at lowest cost

  • Analyze key performance indicators to identify areas of concern, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to rectify them

  • Proactively work with stakeholders to ensure carrier capacity is available to support the operational demand for the successful execution of all shipments including inbound, outbound, Dealer returns and ad-hoc requests

  • Provide feedback to the development of delivery template based on road, rail service offering and barge operations

  • Maintain current knowledge of Canadian transportation acts and regulations, including transportation of dangerous goods

What you bring

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Logistics or Engineering

  • Transportation industry experience

  • A general understanding of the Highway Traffic Act; Transportation of Dangerous Goods

  • Good knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) for example, JDA or Oracle

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g. Macros, Pivot Tables) and Access (e.g. Macros, Queries, Reporting) skills

  • Foundational Python programming skills, with experience using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy; willingness to learn more advanced tools (e.g., scikit learn).

  • Experience building reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Must excel in a team environment, comfortable making objective decisions on the fly

  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast paced, challenging environment with a great deal of autonomy

  • Ability to work with complex and evolving systems and extensive and varied data
