What you’ll do
Work with complex systems and applications to tender work assignments, and update transportation activities being executed across Canada balancing cost and service
Provide regular feedback on the quality of the transportation plan, and suggest improvements
Establish and maintain good working relationship with third party carriers while ensuring desired service is provided at lowest cost
Analyze key performance indicators to identify areas of concern, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to rectify them
Proactively work with stakeholders to ensure carrier capacity is available to support the operational demand for the successful execution of all shipments including inbound, outbound, Dealer returns and ad-hoc requests
Provide feedback to the development of delivery template based on road, rail service offering and barge operations
Maintain current knowledge of Canadian transportation acts and regulations, including transportation of dangerous goods
What you bring
Post-Secondary education in Business, Logistics or Engineering
Transportation industry experience
A general understanding of the Highway Traffic Act; Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Good knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) for example, JDA or Oracle
Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g. Macros, Pivot Tables) and Access (e.g. Macros, Queries, Reporting) skills
Foundational Python programming skills, with experience using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy; willingness to learn more advanced tools (e.g., scikit learn).
Experience building reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail
Must excel in a team environment, comfortable making objective decisions on the fly
Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast paced, challenging environment with a great deal of autonomy
Ability to work with complex and evolving systems and extensive and varied data
