The Carrier Operations Analyst supports the ongoing development and success of the Carrier life-cycle process related to securing, monitoring, and coordinating carriers in the AMG Distribution network of up to 150 spot carriers and about 150 dedicated carriers. As such, the Carrier Operations Analyst will be sharing key performance insights with multiple stakeholders including: the Carrier Team, Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution teams as well as carrier companies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carrier Operations

We are looking for someone to help analyze carrier needs from multiple stakeholders and develop the carrier strategy to meet business needs. You will guide carrier resources for assigned projects and support their performance throughout those initiatives. We invite you to build a deep understanding of current carrier contracts to ensure carrier alignment and operational success.

Work closely with NLC to ensure carriers are transitioned on schedule or reassigned according to driver type and priority. You will be responsible for coordinating home time with vendors and communicating those needs with our logistics team. We look for you to ensure that processes for requesting carriers are followed and well-documented.

Monitor and engage with the field regarding trip confirmation progress to ensure timeliness and transparency. Provide supportive assistance to customer inquiries, including retrieving proof of delivery documents. Facilitate the process of receiving vendor trip paperwork and ensure the paperwork is organized in the appropriate folder for zone administration confirmation. Provide helpful assistance to field administrators regarding trip validation in ALTO. Other duties as assigned.

Business Analytics

Maintain the carrier headcount database to showcase current driver population and utilization. Provide carrier usage reports to finance on a monthly basis. Ideally, you bring a deep proficiency in the reporting features of Transportation & Distribution systems to provide management with insightful ad-hoc reports and customized standardized updates regarding operational KPIs. Help maintain all carrier data within our system of record (ALTO) and address errors during driver set up and utilization.

Maintain various Smartsheet's to include the Unconfirmed Carrier Shift report. Provide constructive feedback to Logistics Center Leadership on carrier performance and training needs. Participate in and contribute to the implementation of cross-functional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, operations management, organizational management and/or another related degree.

  • In lieu of a college degree, we value three to five (3-5) years of equivalent experience in Distribution and/or Logistics.

Length & Type of Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a dynamic business logistics and/or supply chain function is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A foundational understanding of business principles, processes, and concepts related to safety, logistics, customer service, and accounting.

  • The ability to navigate evolving priorities and stay goal-aligned to make a meaningful impact.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting change management.

  • Strong skills in coordination and a natural ability to foster interpersonal connections.

  • Critical thinking skills to facilitate inclusive stakeholder sessions.

  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office applications; experience with Power BI is an asset.

  • Experience using proprietary and/or off-the-shelf planning/optimization programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
