Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on training for workers on the safe and effective use of carpentry tools (power tools, hand tools, saws, drills, etc.)
  • Conduct skill assessments and verify worker competency
  • Provide refresher training and corrective coaching as needed
  • Complete documentation of assessments, training records, and compliance requirements
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training or support
  • Ensure all training aligns with Ledcor company policies, industry best practices, and site safety standards
  • Promote a positive learning environment rooted in safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Provincially recognized journeyperson certification in Carpentry
  • Must have long term industry experience
  • Previous experience in training or assessing workers is an asset
  • Credentials in training and assessing advantageous
  • Strong understanding of safe tool operation and construction site safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt training styles to support a diverse workforce
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract
  • CSTS-2020 Fundamentals and WHMIS 2015

Work Conditions

  • Casual / Part time position, working between Monday to Friday
  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week
  • Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
