Position Description: The Lead Hand will be responsible for supervising trade employees assigned to a particular construction discipline or work areas.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, towers and other structures

• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Clark Builders safety policies and procedures

• Monitors storage of material, tools, and equipment - proper and secure.

• Assigns tasks to workers according to their capabilities and training.

• Identify hazards and correct any unsafe conditions

• Participate in QA/QC checks and inspections

• Lead site specific orientations and tailgate meetings

• Other duties as required

• Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner

• Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures

• Ensures use of proper PPE for workers performing tasks

Skills and Knowledge:

• The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods. Manual dexterity, balance for working on scaffolding. To solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately. 

• The ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and communicate this information to others

• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.

• Conflict resolution

• The capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions depending on the season

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson trade certification

• 5-8 years of construction experience

• Valid first aid certificate an asset

• Valid Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset
