Job Description

Are you ready to lead a talented team at our state-of-the-art biologics facility in Dunboyne? We're looking for a passionate and experienced QC Biochemistry and Cell Biology Lead to join our Quality Control team.

In this role, you will be essential in establishing our laboratory as a centre of excellence for specialised analytical testing. Reporting to the QC Lead, you will guide your team through laboratory start-up, new product introductions, and analytical technology transfers. Your leadership will help shape a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement, ultimately creating value for the patients we serve.

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:

  • Lead and Inspire: Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing Quality Control team. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every team member can thrive.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of Biochemistry and Cell Biology methods, including ELISAs, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), bioassays, cell culture, and viral/mycoplasma testing.
  • Drive Excellence: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, using your problem-solving skills to enhance our processes and ensure the laboratory is always ready for audits and inspections.
  • Ensure Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of quality and safety, ensuring all activities meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work with cross-functional teams to boost efficiency, solve challenges, and support new products. Encourage new ideas and approaches that improve our work.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • A degree in a Science, Quality, or other technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience leading a team and managing laboratory operations.
  • A deep understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and global regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information to team members and senior leadership.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A flexible and self-motivated approach to your work.
