Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist II is an advanced, multi-service procedural technologist responsible for supporting complex and high-risk diagnostic and interventional procedures across Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Vascular service lines.
This role demonstrates advanced clinical judgment, independent technical proficiency, and the ability to support emergent and high-acuity cases including STEMI, cardiac implants, peripheral vascular interventions, complex embolization, and critical limb procedures.

The Technologist II serves as a clinical resource, supports procedural efficiency, and promotes safe, high-reliability operations across all procedural environments.

Essential Functions

  • Functions competently across Cath Lab, IR, and Vascular procedural suites.
  • Supports high-risk and emergent procedures including but not limited to: STEMI and cardiogenic shock interventions; Impella, IABP, and mechanical circulatory support; complex PCI (atherectomy, bifurcation stenting); complex peripheral vascular interventions; pulmonary embolism thrombectomy; embolization and advanced IR procedures.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in advanced access techniques (i.e. radial, femoral, brachial, & pedal as applicable).
  • Assists with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and waveform interpretation.
  • Anticipates equipment and supply needs for complex procedures.
  • Supports rapid room turnover during high-volume or emergent operations.
  • Participates in call response for multi-service emergent cases.
  • Participates in charge capture review and posting logs as needed.
  • Independently scrubs, monitors, or circulates in high-acuity cases.
  • Operates advanced imaging systems (fluoroscopy, IVUS, FFR/iFR, hemodynamic recording systems).
  • Assists in setup and troubleshooting of specialty equipment including mechanical thrombectomy systems, atherectomy platforms, closure devices, and mechanical circulatory support devices.
  • Demonstrates radiation safety expertise and safety reporting.
  • Serves as a preceptor for Technologist I staff and orientees.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives (turnaround time, first case on-time starts, equipment standardization).
  • Contributes to quality metrics such as COAP quality program outcomes, contrast stewardship, radiation dose monitoring, case start efficiency, or STEMI door-to-balloon performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in invasive cardiovascular or interventional radiology procedures.
  • Documented competency in high-risk procedural support.
  • Certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography R.T. (R) or Certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Advanced certification in Cardiac Interventional R.T. (CI), Vascular Interventional R.T. (VI), or RCIS required within 2 years of hire
  • Washington State Radiologic Technologist License required for individuals performing fluoroscoping imaging
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Experience in high-volume STEMI program preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $49.61 - $82.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
