Cardiology Transporter

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Transports patients to and from the Cardiology department according to patient-specific needs. Assisting staff in basic care needs. Assists in preparing the patient for procedures including positioning the patient and room and/or equipment preparation.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Assist and accompany patients to/from Cardiology department
  • Assist patient care staff with basic care needs
  • Positions, lifts, and turns patients, as needed, in preparation for care
  • Prepares the room and/or equipment for use
  • Assists in the use of bedpan, urinal, or commode
  • Utilizes, cleans, and maintains supplies including stocking rooms
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information
  • Assist hooking up and prepping patients for stress echocardiograms
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • General Educational Development
  • Patient transport experience
  • patient care experience

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 Days

Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Certified Nurse Aide / Assistant (CNA) - State Department for Aging and Disability Services (KS), Department of Health & Senior Services (MO) - Includes licenses for all other states
