Sentara is hiring a Cardiac Flow Manager for Sentara Norfolk General's Heart Hospital, in Norfolk Virginia.

Shift: 630a-3p M-F. No call required

Overview

The Cardiac Flow Manager is responsible for governing daily patient flow operations for the cardiac programs in SNGH/SHH.   The position will work in partnership with multiple stakeholders to ensure consistent flow, access, and efficiencies for cardiac procedural areas and inpatient departments.  Must possess exceptional clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as a strong knowledge base of daily Heart Hospital patient flow methodologies.

The Manager, Nursing and Patient Care Services is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Models and leads professional practices consistent with organizational goals of safety, customer satisfaction and quality for the area of expertise.

The Manager, Nursing and Patient Care Services supervises staff, provides clinical and technical expertise and engages in process improvements. Assists in the fiscal budgeting and management process for the department including billing and revenue management, payroll, purchasing and supply cost management. Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility. Must possess a strong clinical care knowledge base in area of expertise. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Education

  • BNS Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia RN License REQUIRED

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Experience

  • 3 years related experience REQUIRED
  • 3 years healthcare leadership REQUIRED
  • Cardiac leadership STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • Critical care experience STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently PREFERRED
  • Heart hospital experience STRONLGY PREFERRED
  • Position requires strong cardiac background to be successful.
