Job Summary
The Flagstar Bank Commercial Card Product Specialist is responsible for working closely with the Commercial Card Product Manager and Treasury Management-Product Manager Lead in support of Flagstar Bank’s Commercial and Business Card programs. This role works closely and partners with Relationship Managers and Treasury Management Sales Officers in support of Flagstar Bank’s Commercial Card and Business Card product offerings. The specialist acts as a subject matter expert for card related products and systems, driving efficiency, portfolio/spend growth, and customer satisfaction. This role is a strategic thinking yet process-oriented professional with superior skills at managing products as well as building strong working relationships with both internal and external clients.
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
80% of time: Product Development & Management
- Take lead role in sales and implementation of Commercial and Business Card products in conjunction with Treasury Management Sales Officers and/or Relationship Manager.
- Focus on driving portfolio growth. Leads sales calls that require Commercial and Business Card products and services, Accounts Payables, Virtual Cards and online portal technical demonstrations.
- Partners with Relationship Managers and Treasury Management Sales Officers with the card sales and implementation process. This includes leading client presentations, internal trainings, and conducting demonstrations for the Commercial Card portal as needed.
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Commercial Card and Business Card programs. This includes client outreach as appropriate (with guidance from the account owner) to help grow portfolio spend with existing clients and identify net new opportunities as well as ensuring client issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist with product metrics, product launches, and product performance and ensure success against product goals and expectations.
- Provide consistent sales and sales pipeline reporting.
- Ensure continuous improvement in the product as well as ensure that product compliance meets market needs.
- Keep abreast of industry – along with both traditional and non-traditional competition. Partners with vendors to resolve client issues.
10% of time: Strategy
- Work closely with leadership to understand overall business objectives.
- Identify product opportunities and gaps for the organization, determine potential impact to financials, and inform multi-year product strategy and prioritization program.
- Understand and develop a perspective on payment industry – both traditional and non-traditional products and rails.

- Develop trusted partnerships within the enterprise; coach team to develop impactful partnerships

- Assist in playing a role in marketing products. Ensure proper internal training and education on product positioning and functionality. Ensure products resonate with customers through research and that product maintenance is continuous. Actively promote and support the product portfolio throughout the organization.

- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance training. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or related field
- Minimum experience required: 8+ Years experience in card programs including researching, sales, servicing, and driving product strategies.
Job Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge, understanding, and expertise of Commercial Card Payment solutions including Accounts Payable and Virtual Cards.
- Highly effective organizational and project management skills, strong attention-to-detail, independent, self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to foster internal and external collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, partners and the organization.
- Understanding of Working Capital and client benefits.
- Expertise of both business and banking regulations such as UCC, Reg CC, Reg E and regulatory guidance/oversight.
- Experience selling multi-million dollar deals/solutions.
- Developed sales/negotiation aptitude and the ability to tactfully communicate at a senior executive level.
- Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources to resolve a service challenge or develop a solution.
- Occasional travel to client offices, prospects, branches, team meetings, and various functions is a requirement of the position.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

Pay Range
$124,118.25 - $202,476.00
