As a Captain, you will serve as the primary point of contact for guests within your assigned dining room station, taking full ownership of the guest journey from arrival to departure while setting the standard for service excellence and hospitality.
Take full ownership of an assigned station and oversee the complete guest dining experience.
Welcome guests warmly and deliver consistent, professional, and gracious service throughout each course.
Sell and serve food and beverages using approved service techniques, position numbers, and service spiels.
Describe menu items, daily features, and changes; answer questions related to food, beverage, and wine offerings.
Maintain awareness of table status, pacing, and upcoming courses to ensure seamless service flow.
Communicate continuously with Back Servers, Food Runners, Bussers, and kitchen teams to anticipate and meet guest needs.
Assist with food expediting to maintain proper timing and coordination with the kitchen.
Monitor guest satisfaction after each course and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure accuracy of guest checks, present them in a timely manner, and process payments efficiently.
Coordinate table maintenance, clearing, resetting, and stocking in collaboration with support staff.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dining room and service stations at all times.
Participate in pre-shift meetings and remain current on menu, beverage, and wine updates.
Comply with all Bacco Service, Food, Beverage, and Wine Manuals, as well as all federal, state, and local health, safety, and labor regulations.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1–2 years of fine-dining or comparable food service experience preferred.
Must meet minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of food, wine, and beverage offerings.
Thorough understanding of fine-dining service standards and procedures.
Ability to describe menu items, preparation methods, and pricing using suggestive selling techniques.
Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.
Strong numerical skills and accuracy in cash and check handling.
Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a team environment.
