Position Summary

The Capital Equipment Planning Manager develops equipment planning standards and business plans for the purchase/lease of capital equipment, fixtures and furnishings for capital construction projects from conception through completion. The incumbent leads the RFP process, obtains bids, negotiates for the best price, secures, documents and reports on the project plan and budget status. The incumbent partners with business team members including management, contractors, vendors, architects, research, and manufacturing to identify, schedule and secure equipment and coordinates the justification and procurement process between Facilities, Clinical Staff, Clinical Engineering, IT, Executive Teams, Contractors and Purchasing departments to keep the project plan and projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements the capital sourcing strategy and plan.
  • Works with clinical key stakeholders on standardization of supplies and capital equipment; maintains equipment list.
  • Leads the equipment bid/RFP and analysis process specific to FF&E equipment planning
  • Updates local project management and finance staff on budget status
  • Coordinates and implements project equipment logistics plan and provides equipment installation oversight
  • Manages any 3rd party FF&E planners or logistics teams working on project
  • Coordinates equipment specifications with architects to support design accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, construction, or related field OR four years of experience in lieu of the degree will be considered
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience procuring and sourcing equipment in a healthcare setting
  • Three (3) years of experience and demonstrated skills in leadership or a supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience in an IDN healthcare setting, five (5) or more years highly preferred
  • CMRP preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $101,545.60 - $146,140.80 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
