Job Summary:

Contributes to system wide, comprehensive capital planning initiatives. Responsible for day-to-day capital planning process at the system level, including managing the flow of both routine and strategically crucial projects, from project inception to completion to post-implementation monitoring and analysis. Collaborates with various department leaders and leadership to manage a wide range of capital projects and the overall capital planning process.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Communicates with all participants and stakeholders of the capital planning process, including operations, finance, administration, executive leadership, and all other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Leads the application of corporate finance principles and analytical frameworks to capital projects, including conducting detailed financial analyses, calculating returns on investment, and aiding in market study preparations.
  • Works with senior leadership to align capital projects with organizational strategic goals, evaluating potential investment opportunities through financial metrics, market trends, strategic relevance, and risk assessments.
  • Oversees the capital investments portfolio, establishing key performance indicators and benchmarks to measure success, and report outcomes to senior management.
  • Prepares materials and analyses to be used in various capital planning committees.  Participates in various capital planning committees of the organization to make recommendations related to the feasibility, essentiality and value-add of capital project requests.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the capital planning process.
  • Utilizes an in-depth knowledge of the organization's regional and system-level departments to coordinate and direct a large volume of capital project requests to the appropriate organizational leaders.
  •  Acts as the primary expert on the organization's capital planning procedures, ensuring compliance, and providing ongoing education and support to a diverse group of stakeholders in managing their capital project submissions and analyses.
  • Works with corporate services and financial planning & analysis teams to understand and manage the organization's capital capacity, ensuring alignment with financial capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates with strategy teams to ensure capital strategy aligns with the broader organizational strategy and to leverage synergies across strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE 

  • Five years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
