About Treasury:
- Treasury is part of the Finance division with the Group Treasurer reporting to the Group CFO. The function is responsible for the sourcing, management and optimisation of liquidity and capital to deliver high-value risk management decisions. This is underpinned by a best-in-class risk framework that enables Treasury to identify the Bank’s resource demands, set incentives by allocating resource costs to businesses and manage evolving regulations.
- Treasury’s mandate, which encompasses the Bank’s funding strategy, Asset and Liability management (ALM) and management of liquidity reserves, supports businesses in delivering their strategic targets at global and local level. Treasury manages the optimization of all financial resources to implement the group’s strategic objective and maximize long-term return on shareholders’ equity. The Group Treasurer is based in London, and the Treasury function operates across the globe with major hubs in Frankfurt, London, Singapore and New York.
Role Description
- This role is crucial for enabling the execution of the Bank's strategy in APAC-MEA. The successful candidate will be an independent and self-motivated contributor to the Regional Treasury team in India, whilst also supporting the sourcing, management and optimization of liquidity and capital for Deutsche Bank’s legal entities in the APAC-MEA region, with strong focus on the India entities.
- The candidate will contribute significantly to ensuring a robust financial resource framework, effective market engagement, and transparent allocation of funding and liquidity costs, all while ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements in India and across the region. The role demands excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, strong numerical literacy, and the ability to build relationships and manage a wide variety of stakeholders, including Business Heads, Risk, Finance and other Treasury teams.

Your key responsibilities
Based in Mumbai, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing insights for Deutsche Bank legal entities across the APAC-MEA region from liquidity, capital, balance sheet, and funding perspectives, ensuring full compliance with applicable local regulatory requirements.
- Providing analytical and governance support for individual country ALCOs across APAC-MEA, including preparation of materials and insight generation.
- Conducting entity specific Management Information (MI) analytics to support local treasurers in their monthly Treasury P&L reviews and overall signoff processes.
- Independently analysing Risk and P&L drivers, including components of net interest income, evaluating funding options, and delivering high quality risk management insight and analytical support.
- Contributing to the Bank’s global funding framework, ensuring accurate quantification of funding consumption and supporting initiatives that incentivise diversification and stable funding provision.
- Enable alignment of governance standards, methodology and audit support across Treasury functions for APAC-MEA.
- Supporting regional rollouts of new infrastructure systems and Treasury change programmes across APAC MEA, ensuring alignment with global Treasury standards and local country requirements.
- Enabling automation and process enhancements for Treasury activities, while proactively identifying and delivering process optimisation and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Collaborating with key internal stakeholders across Markets, Risk, Finance, and Business teams to drive Treasury-wide strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and risk management outcomes.
- Working closely with peers, in particular within the region, to ensure consistency of approach and to facilitate effective sharing of best practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high performing Treasury team in India, including:
- setting clear goals and expectations,
- providing continuous feedback and structured performance management,
- building technical capability through coaching, cross training, mentoring, and succession planning,
- fostering an inclusive, resilient, and collaborative team culture aligned with Treasury’s regional and functional objectives.
Your skills and experience
The ideal candidate will preferably have some of the following:
- A strong academic background, holding at least a Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative focus (Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.), or professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (or equivalent), MBA (Finance), CFA, or FRM from institutes of repute.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in quantitative finance concepts, supporting a trading or structuring desk, trading risk management function, or a Treasury FTP function—ideally within an international banking environment and with prior exposure to APACMEA markets.
- Strong product knowledge in unsecured cash and derivative products, with solid understanding of key risk metrics such as PV01 and VaR.
- Knowledge of Financial Resource Management concepts, including assets, liabilities, liquidity constraints, and the ability to translate these into practical and strategic funding plans.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of Python, VBA, and SQL for analytical and automation purposes highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and numerical abilities, with the capability to interpret complex financial data across a diverse regional context and derive meaningful insights.
- Robust problem-solving skills, especially in navigating challenges unique to APACMEA markets, local regulatory environments, and diverse Treasury infrastructures.
- Demonstrated curiosity and an inquisitive mindset, with a strong drive to challenge the status quo, improve processes, and enhance methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly to senior stakeholders across multiple time zones.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, demonstrating a team-oriented mindset and commitment to supporting regional objectives.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational discipline in managing competing priorities and deliverables.
- A proven track record of initiative and independence, displaying proactiveness, ownership, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
