Job Summary
Astera Labs is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Capacity Planning Analyst to support capacity planning, supply chain visibility, and operational reporting across the business. This role will sit at the intersection of supply chain, data engineering, and business operations, helping transform raw data from multiple sources into scalable reporting, forecasting, and decision-support tools.
The ideal candidate will combine strong planning and program management skills with hands-on experience in databases, ETL pipelines, API integrations, Power BI reporting, and automation. This person will play a key role in building and maintaining reporting infrastructure that enables the business to monitor backlog, forecast demand, yield, inventory/WIP, shortages, and supply risk in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve capacity planning processes, tools, and reporting infrastructure.
- Build and manage data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from internal and external sources into reporting environments such as Power BI.
- Support database and data engineering work, including querying and structuring data from systems such as Databricks, Oracle, APIs, and Excel-based business inputs.
- Set up and maintain API connections to automate ingestion of operational, supply chain, and manufacturing data.
- Design and support ETL workflows that feed clean, reliable data into Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
- Develop and automate recurring reports to support planning, forecasting, inventory visibility, and operational decision-making.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and heatmap reporting to highlight shortages, supply gaps, and capacity constraints.
- Generate Oracle database reports and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and reporting consistency.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, IT, and Business Units to identify reporting needs and implement automation solutions.
- Manage reporting and automation projects from requirements gathering through deployment, documentation, and user adoption.
- Communicate planning risks, reporting insights, and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Qualifications:
- We are looking for someone able to start between May - September of this year.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in capacity planning, supply chain analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a related role.
- Experience working with Databricks or similar database/cloud data platforms.
- Experience with data engineering, including data transformation, pipeline development, and structuring large datasets.
- Experience setting up and maintaining API-based data connections.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration into reporting platforms such as Power BI.
- Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard development, reporting, and visualization.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience creating business-friendly files that can be updated and maintained by end users.
The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000, plus bonus and equity.
