The NYISO’s Market Mitigation & Analysis department invites applications for a full-time Capacity Mitigation & Analysis Engineer to join our team.
The Capacity Mitigation & Analysis Engineer plays a key role in supporting NYISO’s administration of the capacity market mitigation provisions outlined in Attachment H of the Market Services Tariff. As a technical contributor within the Capacity Mitigation & Analysis team, this position is responsible for conducting market analysis, supporting mitigation implementation, and assisting in the evaluation of market participant conduct to ensure competitive outcomes.
In addition, the Engineer will validate Dependable Maximum Net Capability (DMNC) tests, monitor ICAP underbidding behavior, support Firm Fuel Requirement processes, validate spot market auctions, assist in buyer-side and supply-side mitigation reviews, and perform forecasts of capacity market outcomes. This role requires strong analytical skills, engineering knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maintain the integrity and efficiency of NYISO’s wholesale markets.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret technical and economic data and communicate findings clearly. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, Python, SQL) preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
