Overview of Position:

The manager provides overall operational leadership and direction for the centralized operations center supporting patient flow, access, and care coordination. This role oversees day-to-day performance of operations center functions and works collaboratively across departments to support efficient throughput, appropriate bed utilization, and a positive patient and staff experience. The manager balances operational oversight with people leadership, data-informed decision making, and ongoing process improvement, while allowing flexibility as the function evolves.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES        
1.    Provides operational oversight of the operations center and its core functions, ensuring continuity of service and effective coordination across care settings.
2.    Leads and supports staff responsible for patient flow, placement, access, and coordination activities.
3.    Uses operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement and supports action planning.
4.    Collaborates with clinical, operational, and administrative partners to align command center activities with organizational priorities.
5.    Supports effective patient flow processes, including admissions, transfers, discharges, and escalation of barriers when needed.
6.    Oversees staff performance through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
7.    Ensures staffing, scheduling, and resource use are aligned with operational needs.
8.    Supports integration and effective use of health information systems, dashboards, and workflow tools related to patient flow.
9.    Participates in development, monitoring, and evolution of key performance indicators related to throughput and access.
10.    Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.


QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Current Ohio RN licensure.  
2.    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
3.    Five (5) years of leadership in hospital operations/patient flow.
4.    Ability to interpret throughput, capacity, and utilization data to inform operational decisions.
5.    Working knowledge of inpatient flow concepts and care coordination.
6.    Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, as well as effective time management skills.
7.    Proficiency in electronic health records systems and patient flow dashboards.
8.    Self-motivated and able to complete assigned duties with minimal direction.
