Canyon Activities Center - Assistant (FWS/NFWS)

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Canyon Activities Center (CAC) in greeting, checking in guests to the facility, providing customer service and support to the participants and patrons visiting the CAC. This position will enforce all policies and procedures set by the Campus Recreation Staff regarding usage of the building. Additionally, this position works closely closely with the Campus Recreation Department Management team to help manage and troubleshoot any building operations issues or daily tasks.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Opening and/or Closing the CAC.
  • Checks in students/faculty/staff/spectators for use of the facility.
  • Manage the front desk/check in desk area.
  • Help enforce all policies and procedures related to usage of the CAC.
  • Communicate areas of conflict with Campus Recreation Management.
  • Help inform and communicate policies with building visitors.
  • Mange the checking out of recreation equipment from the front desk.
  • Communicates to Campus Recreation Management of building needs.
  • Helps review policies and procedures.
  • Reports maintenance issues/needs to Campus Recreation Management 
  • Helps Clean and maintain order of the CAC front desk area and other parts of the building.
  • Trouble shoots any scheduling conflicts that come up with users of the facility.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Assist in marketing and coordinating programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work 4-5 hour shifts at a time.

                                    

Qualifications:

  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Required to work 3-4 shifts a week.
  • Required to work weekends if needed.
  • Outgoing, hardworking and courteous.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2026
