WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Canteen Food Hall Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within the food hall. This includes cleaning dining areas, supporting food service operations, assisting with waste management, and ensuring an overall pleasant experience for guests.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain the highest standards to ensure the detail quality and cleanliness in the food hall and other required areas.
Performs duties such as ware-washing, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning walls, foodservice equipment and simple operation of basic equipment
Sanitize, sweep, and mop the kitchen/dining room floor as directed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food hall area
Receive and clean our guests soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware following proper departmental procedures
Ensure guest safety by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
Own the guest experience in any situation by using problem solving skills to impress the guest
Perform other job-related duties as requested
Must adhere to all company standards and operating policies.
Performs all side work, opening and closing duties.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work area.
Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
Ensure all Rio Hotel & Casino core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
Assist bus runner in keeping/maintaining dining room areas clean.
Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 21 years of age.
At least one year of high-volume counter or fast-food experience in a similar or related field.
Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Polished appearance and demeanor.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of the venues menu.
Previous experience working in a similar position within a hospitality establishment.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
Must regularly lift and/move up to 25 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office setting.
Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
PAY RANGE
The pay range for this position is $22.00 hour.
